We have had a very busy week in Year One and we’ve settled back into school routines very quickly. Our new topic this half term is ‘It’s a Bug’s Life’ and to inspire our learning we have been looking at the story: Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell. In Literacy we have been writing storyboards to retell the story, thinking of our own ideas on how to change it and finally writing our own story book. In Mathematics we have been learning different measuring skills. On Wednesday we measured the length of pants for Norman to use to make wings, Thursday we weighed different objects to find the best shell for Norman, and finally on Friday we used capacity language when making slime for Norman. Please find below some photographs of our learning this week!
We have had lots of fun and we are looking forward to Tuesday to start looking at the story: The Bad Tempered Ladybird!
